HOWTO: Active Directory - Replace a PDC, RID or Infrastructure Master
To move the PDC, RID or Infrastructure Master to another domain controller, do the following:
- Open Active Directory Users and Computers from the Administrative Tools menu.
- Right-click the domain node and choose Connect to Domain Controller.
- Select the domain controller that you want to take over these roles and press OK.
- Right-click the domain node and choose Operations Masters.
- To change the role, go to the tab with the role name (RID,PDC,Infrastructure) you want to change and click Change.
